Finding the right storage space

Five things to check

  1. Size match — measure your largest item and check the listing's dimensions. Don't trust size labels alone (a "10×10" can have a 7-foot door).
  2. Access type — drive-up, basement stairs, second floor? Match it to your stuff.
  3. Climate — if you're storing wood, electronics, or anything moisture-sensitive, look for climate controlled.
  4. Access hours — some listings are 24/7, others by appointment only.
  5. Reviews — read the recent ones. Pay attention to communication and condition.

Message the host with any questions before booking — most respond fast.
